There is something about the simplify of unpainted plastic figures that inspires.Jon Meechhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13382622116023780186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7136289990566725685.post-61173831061464372412019-09-18T05:29:08.304-07:002019-09-18T05:29:08.304-07:00Fantastic, dedicated recreation of the sunken road...Fantastic, dedicated recreation of the sunken road at Antietam (Sharpsburg). I could see the segment you brought to life in my mind's eye, having visited the ground many times. Well done! The number of figures lends a broad scope to the engagement. Thanks.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02905241075939289033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7136289990566725685.post-56030996600954020532019-09-17T15:44:25.062-07:002019-09-17T15:44:25.062-07:00You had a lot of fun with this didn't you? I read just the other day that Americans are not in the habit of painting their plastic figures, which is why they prefer to have them cast in an appropriate colour. I can see that this practice has a pictorial charm of its own: the mix of grey and tan for the Confederates, and various shades of blue for the Union.

On the Union eventually carrying the Bloody Lane, I read somewhere (it might have been Southall Freeman or perhaps Steven W. Sears) that the Confederate defenders, running short of ammunition, were in the process of being relieved by fresh units. Either or both is plausible - but might also form, as it were, an apologia for losing such a strong position.Archduke Piccolohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15533325665451889661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7136289990566725685.post-20975024968164788402019-09-17T12:50:43.427-07:002019-09-17T12:50:43.427-07:00Brilliant !
