We had about thirteen participants, both children and adults, and as many girls as boys.
We used BMC/Americana figures as they are cheap and don't have an overabundance of detail. Cheap craft paints gave great coverage on the primed figures.
Each figure was primed beforehand and the base was hot-glued to a square of cardboard to make handling easier.
A good time was had by all.
It's nice to see that there will be a whole new generation to...
soldier on!

Hey Mannie, looks like a good time was had by all. Great to see the kids do something that does not involve a screen isn't it? I expect some of them have discovered a whole new hobby. This is a favorite activity at Fort Fisher, and starting to do it at other places in the NC Historic Sites system. Thanks for helping the next generation "soldier on!"
I'm glad that the Monocacy battlefield finally got its just do. My buddy and I flew from California to tour Civil War battlefields more than 35 years ago. On his list was Monocacy, but at the time there were maybe 2 monuments and nothing else. Very disappointing. We were surprised that Maryland hadn't done anything. I moved to Virginia shortly thereafter. I never tried to visit the site again (in part because I hadn't been aware that anything had been done with the ground), but in any case, neither my wife nor my sons are interested at all in visiting battlefields, so I never got around to it.
My compliments on your detail! I'd love to follow suit, but at 69 I'm just to old to do it.
