Big Fun!
I've been anticipating the Gettysburg show all winter, and this rainy and gloomy day was considerably brightened as my wife drove me the 45 minutes to Gettysburg to enjoy the toy soldier show. I got to chat at length with one of my friends (who was one of the dealers) from whom I purchased a couple of items pictured below, the gun and the little wheelbarrow man. It was also nice to meet some people who follow the blog, even getting a cheerful "Soldier on!"
After the show my wife picked me up and we went into town and I bought us lunch. It was a delightful day.
This British 13-pounder quick firing gun came home in bare metal. The manufacturer is unknown to me and it bears no markings.
I spent the afternoon priming and painting it in the manner of the 13-pounder used by E battery of the Royal Horse Artillery that is displayed in the Imperial War Museum.
Don't touch please...the paint's not dry yet.
Next up, is this two-piece set from 2001 by Wm. Britains. I got it for a very (very) good price. There's always more space for victims of the Third Michigan on my toy soldier table.

Battered but alive are these two rebel casualties from History Works. Made in 2018; I hope to see more from this new player in the toy soldier field.
Finally, this charming little man pushing a wheelbarrow. Manufactured in France - I don't know when. When I have him painted he will be one of the denizens of Greenbrier Maryland, that place so often visited in this blog.
So there you have it. It was a delightful day out with my sweetheart, and I got some nice treasures. Maybe I'll see you there next year. Until then...
