Feeling miffed

Having checked out the figures via the internet, I think the manufacturers mean 'These figures aren't kiddies' toys'. They look pretty decent quality to me.

Here's a thing, though. A zillion years ago, but not so long that they can't have been unaware of the popularity of their figures among war gamers, the Airfix company made certain marketing decisions that drew heavy criticism from these war gamers. In response, Airfix announced that war gamers were not their intended marketing demographic.

I recall that in this country, for several years one could not get the Airfix T34 model - a very good and versatile one for war gamers. I had for nigh on a decade to content myself with the three I had.

Go figure.
